The Pratt chair represents a unique collaboration between Mark Goetz, a graduate professor, Tim Richartz, an undergraduate professor, Alvaro Uribe, undergraduate student, and Ashley Thorfinnson, a graduate student, to create a chair to represent Pratt Institute. The students and faculty sketched 5 major elements of the chair to symbolize the different departments in the Institute: Art, Design, Architecture, Information Sciences, and Liberal Arts. The team later worked with Cabot Wrenn to develop the inspiration into a manufactured product. The Pratt Chair sells throughout the country and all royalties provide an ongoing gift to the school.
